Samba Football is here
The Brazil Olympics Football Team landed at Changi Airport Terminal 1 at about 6pm on Wednesday. Besides FAS officials and local and international media personnel, Singaporeans, expatriates and even air stewardesses were present to welcome them.
The team was treated to loud cheers and much camera attention when they appeared at the belt. The crowd went hysterical when the team finally came out walked through the specially-barricaded passageway, as they shouted the players’ names and waved to them.
The crowd followed the team as they made their way to the team bus, shouting and waving to the players as they took their seats in the bus, and only dispersed when the bus drove off.
The team will play against the Singapore Selection Team on Monday 28 July at 8pm at the National Stadium. Singapore Selection squad list and ticket details can be found here.

The crowd

Irfan and Ikhsan have been invited again by Valencia for a two weeks trials in September.This time, if they excel,the club will look into securing their signature when the duo turn 14.
Both players passed the first trial with flying colours.Miguel Tendillo, co-ordinator for the club’s Under-12 set-up, described Ikhsan as ‘a great talent and a natural goalscorer’. According to the former Spanish international, Irfan ’showed good movement and worked hard to create chances’.
During a trial match alongside Spanish boys in his age group, Ikhsan scored four goals. Irfan played as an attacking midfielder in another match, creating three goals.

Raddy announces squad for match against Brazil Olympic Team
Singapore National Coach Radojko Avramovic has announced his Singapore Selection squad of 21 players for next Monday’s friendly against the Brazil Olympic Team at the National Stadium.
The squad features 18 players who were in the Lions’ squad for the World Cup Qualifiers in June. Young Lions central defender Afiq Yunos is the only player uncapped at senior international level.
Lionel Lewis and Qiu Li make a return while defenders Precious Emeujeraye and Noh Rahman have been ruled out of the game through injury.
Avramovic has also called up three foreign players - defenders Kenji Arai of SAFFC and Valery Hiak of Home United as well as Geylang United’s Slovakian attacker Miroslav Latiak.
Says Avramovic, “This match will be a great experience for our players. They will be coming up against some of the best players in the world of today and the future.”
The squad will report for centralised training from Friday onwards in preparation for the match.

Tickets priced at $60 (Gallery) and $120 (Grandstand) are currently on sale at le at all SISTIC outlets and on www.sistic.com.sg. 2,000 tickets priced at $15 each are also available for students under the age of 16 years on a first-come-first-serve basis. Valid student passes must be produced for entry.
Free Shuttle Bus Service
The FAS will be providing a free shuttle bus service from 6.30pm to 8.30pm from Geylang Lor 1 Bus Terminal (opposite Kallang MRT) on match day.
